Baseball is for everyone
Sydney Women's Baseball League (SWBL) is a community league and is about baseball for everyone. We have fun together both on and off the diamond, with a healthy dose of sporting competition and a bunch of social events throughout the season. We also welcome friends and families to participate in social membership and non-playing roles, including umpiring, scoring and sausage flipping on the BBQ.
The 2026 season kicks off on May 3rd, with games every Sunday at HJ Mahoney Memorial Park in Marrickville, concluding with the grand final scheduled for late August.
With the inclusion of a new team this year the league now has eleven teams and about 200 active members. And growing!

History of Sydney Women's Baseball League
Sydney Women's Baseball League (SWBL) offers a social, friendly and inclusive baseball competition based in Marrickville. Established in 1995, SWBL is the longest-running baseball league for women and LGBTQ+ community members in the Sydney metropolitan area. We have players from many sporting backgrounds and encourage all skill levels. Learn more about SWBL here.
In 2025 we celebrated our 30 year anniversary and had a bumper year of events culminating in our Grand Final with The Angels taking out the win, congratulations also go to our Minor Premiers The Shammies.
Grants for inclusion and growth
We're thrilled to announce SWBL has been awarded a $3,900 grant from the NSW Government Local Sport Grant Program 2025.
The league will use the funds to purchase 2 x Zooka pitching machines, 20 x SKLZ Soft Hand fielding trainers and 2 x backstop nets.
Supporting the inclusion and growth of the league with quality training and development equipment, this this equipment will be pivotal to the leagues Friday night training program and our Sunday game days.
