History of Sydney Women's Baseball League
Sydney Women's Baseball League (SWBL) offers a social, friendly and inclusive baseball competition based in Marrickville. Established in 1995, SWBL is the longest-running baseball league for women and LGBTQ+ community members in the Sydney metropolitan area. We have players from many sporting backgrounds and encourage all skill levels. Learn more about SWBL here.
Baseball is for everyone
SWBL is a community league and is about baseball for everyone. We have fun together both on and off the diamond, with a healthy dose of sporting competition and a bunch of social events throughout the season. We also welcome friends and families to participate in social membership and non-playing roles, including umpiring, scoring and sausage flipping on the BBQ.
We are LGBTQ+ inclusive.

Community

SWBL is about baseball for all. We provide a safe, fun and harmonious community for all members, cheer squads, families and friends.
Social

We love baseball, but we're also a social bunch. The SWBL social calendar is jam packed with fun events throughout the season.
Development

SWBL caters to all sporting abilities and runs skill sessions throughout the season. We also provide training for umpire and scorer roles.
Diversity

We recognise that gender isn't binary and welcome trans, gender diverse, and intersex people as we work to reduce the barriers to participation in sport.
Grants for inclusion and growth
Under the spotlight: We were thrilled to announce SWBL's NSW Government ‘Local Sport Grant’ of $7400. This funding provided our league with much-needed new baseball gear and safety equipment, supporting the growth of our club with high-quality equipment. The grant has also helped us promote inclusion for women and LGBTQIA+ athletes in our sport.

Our brilliant sponsors
SWBL is incredibly grateful for our 2024 sponsors, who kept the league affordable and accessible to all. The Golden Barley has also been a long-time sponsor, and you'll find us there every Sunday afternoon for post-match socialising throughout the season. RBI Australia proudly sponsored SWBL, providing affordable gear for the league and players. ACON is another long-term sponsor for the league, ensuring accessible community health, inclusion and HIV response for people of diverse sexualities and genders.
Sydney Women's Baseball League games are played on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present. Always was, always will be.
